International Law
International law governs how nation states should deal with each other.
Today's International Law is based on custom; it's evolved over the centuries and has been influenced by the behaviour of Europe's most powerful nations.
The community governed by International law is not made up of people, but of political units known as States, which in turn, are represented by their governments.
But nation states are not static, and the political map of the world does change over time. The most significant change over the last fifty years or so, is that today, by being members of the United Nations, most countries play some role in global politics.
