The Challenge To The Queensland Act
On the 3rd of April 1987, at a preliminary hearing before Justice Toohey in the High Court, the plaintiffs agreed to withdraw from the original court case if their challenge to the Queensland Act failed.
So now, the future of their claims rested solely on the outcome of this High Court action.
Years of work, and the hopes of the Murray Islanders rested in the balance.
