Mer, Waier & Dauar
At the northern end of the Great Barrier Reef lie three small islands.
Although they account for no more than six square kilometres in area, Mer, Dauar and Waier are the homelands of a Melanesian people known as the Meriam.
In 1791 the Captain Edwards of HMS Pandora named these specks of land Murray's Islands.
