Malo Dance
More Information

That night, the islanders performed the sacred Malo dance, in honour of Koiki Mabo, the man who'd won them recognition of their land, law and custom.

The Mabos and the community danced late into the night; their hero was home safe, and was now buried close to his ancestors, in accordance with his wishes and Meriam custom.
