Land Rights and Social Justice, 1996

Michael Dodson, former Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner and Chair of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies:
'To understand our law, our culture and our relationship to the physical and spiritual world, you must begin with the land... If land rights are to be correctly understood and protected, we must understand them as flowing from a traditional relationship to land in which spiritual, cultural and economic interests are integrated.'
