2nd Yirrkala petition
On 6 May 1971 representatives of the Yirrkala plaintiffs called on Prime Minister McMahon, to give their response to Blackburn's ruling. They presented a petition for:
1. Ownership of the land
2. A direct share of the royalties paid to Nabalco
3. Royalties from all other economic enterprises established on the Aboriginal reserves
4. No other industries in the Aboriginal reserve without the consent of the Yirrkala Aboriginal Council
5. Land to be included in our title after mining is finished
