Jack Wailu


Koiki's childhood friend from Las, Jack Wailu, worked within him as a fettler on the railways:
'If some "big man" did something against us, Eddie the boy would stand right in front of us and say to the man, "No that is wrong. That's the wrong way you shouldn't do that to us." Eddie thought he must stand up and say something about us. He used to help us when someone would growl at us.'
